The
Bambach Saddle Seat. Helps maintain the spines natural
curves and reduces sitting stress.
The Bambach Saddle Seat is
the optimal working chair. It provides a comfortable, upright posture that
maintains your natural spinal curves. Your back, neck, shoulders, legs and
hips are relaxed. You're in balance.

Back and Neck Pain
Back and neck pain are the most common work related musculoskeletal
disorders, and the most costly. Over 70% of the population will suffer from
back or neck disorders at least once in their lifetime.
Conventional seating does not address the
problem. When you sit in a conventional chair your spine assumes an
unnatural position, resulting in a flattening of the lumbar curve. Leaning
forward to work displaces this curve even further, increasing spinal
pressures. This can cause serious and painful damage.
The ideal sitting posture is
the one used when we sit on a horse. The hip joints are in their
resting position with a bend of 45 degrees. The spine assumes its natural
alignment and spinal disc pressures are reduced. Many horse riders report
they suffer from severe back pain on the ground, yet find relief when
mounted in the saddle. The Bambach Saddle Seat
reproduces this phenomenon, enabling balance and mobility in an upright
position.

The
Bambach Saddle Seat was designed by occupational
therapists and an engineer to maintain the
spinal alignment and leg circulation. By working in a more natural, correct
posture, you are at less risk of neck, back or arm
strain.
It also encourages mobility. Your feet are poised
and free to propel you about your workspace. You can get up and down with
ease. You can move your arms freely and with greater control. And you can
bend forward and reach further with less strain than with conventional
seating.

Recommended for:
Office workers, dentists,
surgeons, hairdressers, musicians, lab and
assembly workers, students, librarians, and people
who work at high counters. Useful for people with back,
neck or arm pain and children and adults with neurological or
musculoskeletal disorders.
Dentists and surgeons
Musculoskeletal disorders are common among dentists and surgeons. This
work demands high precision and is often performed with the arms abducted
(away from the body) and unsupported and the neck flexed forward and rotated
for long periods of time. This creates high static loads (muscle tension) in
the neck, upper back, and shoulders. In addition, dentists and surgeons
using traditional seating have a tendency to bend forward from the waist
rather than from the hips. The result is stress on the spinal discs and the
surrounding soft tissues of the spine.

for dental assistants.
Musicians
Musculoskeletal disorders are common among drummers, pianists, string
players, and others. Playing a musical instrument demands high precision
with the hands. In conventional seating, the body's center of gravity is
behind the pelvis, which forces the spine to round and the arms to reach
excessively forward to play the instrument. This strains the neck, back, and
shoulders. The Bambach Saddle Seat moves the body's center of gravity
forward, thus allowing closer access to the instrument, reducing postural
strain and providing greater freedom of movement to the arms and legs.
Caution. While many people are
immediately comfortable in revolutionary seat like the Bambach, others
take some weeks to accommodate the new sitting posture. It can take some
getting used to. Surprisingly, muscles and joints may be unaccustomed to
sitting in a "healthy" upright posture, and workers may experience some
fatigue and soreness the first weeks as the body tones and stretches its
way to better health. Please bear this in mind when ordering since as will
all custom furniture orders, sales are final. Full
manufacturer's
warranty applies.
