Advanced Ergonomics @ Internet Prices

Freedom is a fully adjustable chair that thinks for itself, freeing you from knobs, locks and levers.

One of the world's foremost chair designers, Niels Diffrient, created the next generation in chair ergonomics. The chair's design is based on the concept that difficulty of adjustment inhibits use. That the more complicated a chair is, the less frequently users will take advantage of its adjustment options.

The ideal chair would be one with mechanisms so easy and natural the users is almost unaware of them. Unlike the highly complicated Steelcase chairs or the Herman Miller Aeron chairs which are almost proudly complex, the Freedom chair is simple to use. Worth Magazine said: "With the Aeron, one feels almost tempted to count the paddles and dials. The most sophisticated thing about the Freedom is its unassuming simplicity."

The Freedom chair has just three "fittings" to customize seat height, seat depth, and back rest height. Laborious tension controls are eliminated because the chair's mechanism senses the sitter's weight and provides an appropriate level of resistance. A simple, one handed motion allows you to adjust both arms with a synchronized armrest adjust mechanism. The headrest moves into place as you recline and eases out of the way as you sit upright. the freedom provides full ergonomic adjustability with an absolute minimum of work.

Headrest adjustment. A new intelligent mechanism called the position sensitive headrest moves into place as you recline and moves out of the way as you sit upright. The headrest is contoured to cradle your neck for unmatched comfort. Easily set the headrest height within a 5" range that fit 95% of the population.

Armrest adjustment: Both arms instantly adjust with a simple one-handed motion. A maximum height range for adjustment of 7" includes below thigh level positioning. Adjust quickly to the right position for any task.

Passive recline support. A unique mechanism sense the weight of the user and automatically adjusts to provide back support in every seated position, all without knobs or levers. The recline ranges from 6 degrees forward to 27 degrees backwards.
